Hey howdy hey people who read this blog! (all two of you...)
So, in July we moved from this castle:
| Ok, we only lived in a sixth of this house. |
To this:
And we couldn't be more excited! Would you like a tour? Of course you would.
DISCLAIMER: We have done very minimal decorating. Shortly after we moved in, school started, and life got crazy. All paint colors are from the previous owners. Someday in the future I'll do a "Before and After" post to show what we've changed.
First: the yard. We have a tree house! (that no one plays in) It's adorable and awesome, but the crab apple tree it's built in is MESSY! There are little baby apples all over the place. It is nearly impossible (unless you are a ballerina in point shoes) to walk out there without smooshing at least a few per step (and we have small feet).

| Back. And a view of our side yard. Be sure to tell James how nice and green the grass looks. He's been working hard out there! |

| Here's a view from the front porch. Notice the cute picket fence/gate
and the lamp post. Ignore the photo-bombing dog (for the duration of
this post) |
| Side back yard. Looks serene, right? This is where the dog does her business. (It blends right in with the bark--you can't even tell!) |
| Back patio/yard. It's tiny and there is an apartment complex directly behind that fence, but honestly, it's not too bad. |
| Front room. We spent the most time in this room making it look nice, but we don't even spend very much time in here. Oh well. |
| Our bedroom. You can't see it in this picture, but we have a really big, deep double closet that's really handy. Also, this room is bigger than it looks in this picture. Just use your imagination. |
| Spare bedroom. We keep the door closed in this room at all times, or the entire upstairs echos like a cave. This will eventually be a baby's room. And to answer your inevitable question--we'll have a baby when we're good and ready! :) |
| Bam! Orange wall. We'll be changing this...eventually. |
| A close-up of the hardwood floors of the upstairs. Rustic. Amazing. |
| Upstairs bathroom. We'll be painting this light grey with yellow accents. This home has TONS of storage! Next to our bedroom is also a built-in cabinet with drawers for sheets, blankets, etc. |
| The pantry. |
| The kitchen. We haven't decided what color to make this yet, but we'll probably go more neutral. |
| Kitchen from the other direction. We LOVE these glass cabinets! |
I've decided to do this little tour in two parts, so if you'd like to see the downstairs, see my next post.
Yay!! It looks great! Also your niece and nephews have played in the tree house, so really you can't say no one. Tell James the grass looks fabulous!!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE all the character in your house! The mantle is awesome. Congratulations!
